I hope you got my PM with my agents name and number. We were with Allstate for years, and Farm Bureau beat them hands down, on all our coverage. We gave Allstate a chance to match their price, but they couldn't come close. On a side note, my husband was travelling to New Mexico back in January, in his 4 runner, hauling an enclosed trailer with his 6 month old Harley Davidson in the back. There was that huge ice storm going through Abilene at the time, a tractor trailer went by his really fast, he fish tailed, the trailer flipped and threw his motorcycle out the roof of the trailer. He was not hurt, but sick to death. I do have a point, I called our agent on his cell phone, on a Saturday night, late, he answered and helped me, in Tennessee, do everything I needed to do for him in Texas. Not many agents would do that!

Wow AGAIN! Alleycat...that's phenomenal! You gotta be kidding me?! $524 per year for full coverage...that's like unbelievable. What year is the Honda? Are you still in your 20s alleycat? or 30s?

Statefan: Thanks again for the info that you PMed me...That is great that you're agent did all of that for you guys. That's like something you see on a commercial but never really happens. I'm glad to know that there are agents out there that care. Is that agent (the one you gave me the info for) still your agent or are you guys no longer with this insurance co?

No, but you're getting warmer.

:-)

Actually my insurance with Farm Bureau has always been relatively low, even when I was younger or had a different car. Even when I was 20 and had something of a sports car.

Unfortunately, he is no longer our agent. We have since moved to Texas, but we did keep our insurance with Farm Bureau. But it way more expensive here in Texas!!!!

LOL...no need to share alleycat! I'm glad that I came close though ;-) That's good news that the insurance is so low down there. Thanks for the info.

Statefan: Ok, I see. I thought that you guys were still in TN so I was wondering why this person was your "old" agent...It's unfortunate that the rates have gone up but the confidence of being with a company that has your best interests in mind is always a plus

I was with farm bureau for over 18 years.I had all my insurance needs with them. I was in another state.
I got here looking for auto insurance and it was almost four times higher here for same coverage. I went with gieco. It was even cheaper than I was paying in my home state. I was amazed at the lousy treatment from the FB agent in lebanon, tn.

Insurance is all relative to the individual customer. A company like Farm Bureau or State Farm may not be the best rate for someone that isn't squeaky clean, or someone that doesn't fit the underwriting guidelines.

I'm an independent agent and write for several well-known carriers. If you have a question or if I can help anyone, just PM me. I'm willing to help!

My recommendation of Farm Bureau was based not just on price, but also on how they've handled any claims I or my family have had over the past 35 years.

However, you seem like a honest and reputable guy and I wouldn't have any qualms about seeing you about insurance coverage. I'm sure there are other companies that are basically the equal to how FB handles things. As a matter of fact, remind me at the end of the year and you can give me a quote on my homeowners insurance (which is with Hartford now).

Well thank you Alleycat for the nice words. I will gladly make a note to check back with you at the end of the year. We have some great companies and rates with companies that have local regional offices. I do like to give comparable coverages so we can compare apples to apples which is the best way to compare rates. I look forward to talking to you about this in a few months.
