Default Realtor suggestion needed for Franklin TN area?

My wife and I are currently in Michigan and looking to retire to the Franklin TN area. We were down to visit and loved the area and would like to find a realtor to work with. We're looking for a property with acreage, if that helps. We train agility dogs as a hobby, hence the need for some space. Thanks for any help.

This is a reminder that per the Terms of Service, realtors are not to solicit their services at all, neither in this forum nor through Direct Messages.

Can I recommend my realtor via Direct Message? I am not a realtor, but love mine. That is what I always have done.

@JMT Even when someone asks for a realtor recommendation? Really? Isn’t that - helping to make recommendations – what we CD contributors do every day?

Yes, you may recommend someone else (not yourself) via DM.

Please review the Terms of Service to see what it says about this:

Real Estate Agents and other businesses will not advertise their services nor solicit business in their posts. Create a free business profile by going to http://www.city-data.com/profiles/add and fill out your forum profile instead. Do not include links to your websites, MLS listings, etc. in your posts. Do not try to push the envelope by attempting to hide your intentions. Do not solicit business by DMs. Show your knowledge about the area and help people and you will get leads naturally. Real estate agents should join the usergroup for them here: http://www.city-data.com/forum/profi...editusergroups. It will set your user title and add an icon next to your name, so you will get free advertising with your posts.

Well, I would disagree with the singling out of a particular group more… but I like what the forum creates and provides (and do realize the mess that would be created if the TOS wasn’t in place).

Well I was contacted by several (like 14) through DM's. I was under the assumption that if it were through a PM it was fine. And let me tell you, if you tell one person enough info about yourself - you are bombarded with unwanted solicitations.

I like the idea of 'suggesting' someone on the forum, that way it's your choice to respond. But my experience on City-Data has been very negative as far as realtors go. City-Data has a very poor reputation in many circles because of it's realtors. The realtors on every city-data state forum are just as bad. They are like piranha's.

My advice to everyone - be careful. Take everything you read on these forums with a grain of salt. Cross reference. Try to remember that the people on City-Data are a poor respresentation of the real residents of an area. There are regulars on here and much of what they say is just their opinion. Even though they will make it sound like it is a fact, and even if they throw out a link or two; remember there will be a hundred other links to contradict what they are saying.

Just from reading this forum here one would think that if your children don't end up at Brentwood High School they will be drug addicted hoodlums. There is very little constructive criticism going on here, problems are ignored, each person has their own little area they represent and Realtors here will tell you what you want to hear.

Come on here to read, occassionally comment and read it as if it were the National Enquirer....
