What can we expect in the line of Nashville wildlife - i.e. what types of critters could I expect to see on a regular basis in my yard? I am used to racoons, birds of all kinds, deer, hearing coyotes, etc. - I imagine the warmer weather is more inviting down there?

Raccoons, skunks, opossums, white-tailed deer, groundhogs, foxes, coyotes, turkeys, many different types of songbirds... the occasional armadillo. There have been several bobcat sightings around Radnor Lake.

Well, it really depends on where you live. If you live in East Nashville (about 10 minutes from the city center/concrete jungle) you're probably not going to see the same types of critters as you would a half hour out in Bellevue...or a half hour northwest in more rural Joelton.

I live 35-40 minutes outside of town in a semi-rural area. In a quarter mile radius of my current home I've seen in the past 2 years: deer, turkey, foxes, possum, skunk (in my backyard!), cranes, hawks, rabbits, racoons, a coyote, and some sort of grouse-like bird. Compare that to the previous 5 years in a suburb in Mt. Juliet: one deer, a few turkeys...or my family home in suburban Goodlettsville: deer, turkeys, possum, rabbits, hawks. So it's fair to say the more rural you are, the greater likelihood of spotting wildlife. Likewise, if you live near a park (like Radnor Lake, Shelby Park, etc) you're probably more likely to find wildlife as well.
