Need to take my Mom to a plain old dentist not too far from where we live. Doesn't need to be fancy shmancy with flat screen TV in the waiting room and Starbucks coffee on demand. Just a good dentist. Any recommendations? Thanks much!

Dr. Paul Gilliam

http://www.paulgilliamdentistrybrent.com/

He is on the east side of Cool Springs but easy to get to.

I have lived here for 20 years and tried quite a few of the dentists around town. Some of the tricks they will pull on you really are shameful.
Dr. Gilliam recently moved to a newer office after Dave Ramsey bought the building where he'd practiced for more than a decade. His new place is nice but not a spa, like some of the rip-off places. His approach is straightforward and he does not pressure you to do unnecessary stuff.

In fact, last year I got so fed up with some of the circus-style kid places that I yanked my kids from their dentist and started taking them to Dr. Gilliam too. He is great with everyone.

Dr. Robert Morris
2215 Hillsboro Rd.
794-0172

I've been going to Dr. Morris for years. Wonderful people - not a spa dental office - just honest good work. Dr. Morris actually sent me to the lab (outsourced) when my front tooth was being crafted/repaired to talk to the technician/craftsman about the complexities of my procedure so the people there could evaluate what he was doing first hand. The result was a perfect fit that hid the trauma of an ice hockey incident and associated poor dentistry (different dentist) from a long time ago. I also appreciate the fact that Dr. Morris doesn't immediately drill at the first sign of a cavity. I think his favorite saying is "we'll watch it".......you wont hear that from most other offices.

Dr. J.A. Reynolds in Franklin. I had a really bad experience with another dentist and he was able to clean up the mess she made and has been just wonderful...as is his whole staff!
