Does anyones child attend Smyrna Elementary? (house, elementary school, kindergarten)

I have been researching the Smyrna area and would like to know your opinions of Smyrna Elementary school. If your child attends there, how often a week do they attend Music, Art and P.E? Do they have recess everyday and for how long? Is there a high student/teacher ratio? Is there alot of parent involvent and hands on learning? Can anyone recommend a good 2nd and 3rd grade teacher please? Are there shared classrooms where one grade is mixed in with another and they share a teacher for the basics? Is there individual classrooms or are they one big room seperated 4 ways like we have here in FL?

My son started Kindergarten there in August of this year and so far we love it.

Kindergarten and first grade are in a brand new section of the school. Each room is individual. There are a couple of schools in the area that have the "pods" like you mentioned but SES is not one of them.

From what I have been able to tell-----they do art, music, library, and PE one or two days a week. (It's all still very new to us!) I am learning new things about the school every day. I have volunteered for the PTO and it seems that they have had successful fund raisers but not much parental involvement. (They had open house and a PTO meeting last week. Four parents showed up! They said they had two meetings last year and no one showed up at either meeting.)

My son LOVES his teacher.
