My daughter moved to Brentwood in January with a guy that is from Brentwood. They have just broken up and she must move. She is 25 and knows no one. She works from home, so commute is not a problem.

What are the safest options for her? She wants to stay in Nashville. She can afford rent of around $800 to $900 a month. She does have her own car.

Oh wow..I am so sorry to hear that. It really depends on what her lifestyle choices are. She is in a pretty high rent area now. I live in East Nashville where the rent is affordable and is VERY popular with the young single crowd. Also she may want to check areas close to The Gulch, Vanderbilt, 12th South where singles tend to live and get out. You can find something in her price range there. All of these areas are urban but for the most part safe IMO and with any area you have to be careful. Each neighborhood has it's areas that are still in transition. I am a realtor but do not advertise on this board at all..PM me if you need help.

Safest options...staying in the suburbs like Brentwood/Franklin, Hendersonville, Mt. Juliet, or Bellevue would be the safest options. However, mlp206 is right, East Nashville/Gulch/Vanderbilt/12South are all popular for singles. Of course, you often pay for the popular places. East Nashville and 12 South are transition areas with some definite crime issues although personally I really like both areas and would consider moving into them...especially East Nashville.

Honestly, I would give Bellevue a close look. It is a good area, safe, affordable, and there seem to be a large number of 20-30 somethings in that area.
