Spring Hill leaders to announce I-65 theme park plans | The Tennessean | tennessean.com
For all those who miss the old opryland amusement park. Maybe while they are at it they can put in a race car track too to satisfy those who don't want to lose the track at the fairgrounds.

I do think it would be nice for Nashville to have a theme park...however, Spring Hill seems pretty far from a majority of the population in the area.

The plus would be it's on I-65, and would catch a lot of visitors heading to and from Nashville to Alabama.

Personally, I think Wilson county, between Lebanon and Mount Juliet, would be a more viable location as far as the access to the most local residents and tourists. You have to think, if people are specifically traveling to a theme park all the way out in Spring Hill, they are less likely to visit other areas around Nashville.

Still, I'm curious to see exactly what the plans are. I bet my brother would be excited, too...only having to travel 5-10 minutes to take his kids to a theme park.

Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana, is out in the middle of nowhere and they seem to do okay. I drove eight hours for a visit to Holiday World.

I suppose a Spring Hill venue would pull some business away from Holiday World.

True. Nothing against Christianity (I mean, I am a Christian), but that idea was just flat out corny.

I've nothing against religion, either. but that idiotic idea was NOT thought through and it was to be located about 5 miles from my house in a rural & totally inappropriate area. The county leaders only saw dollar signs and I'm grateful it was shelved. I'm still holding a grudge toward Peter Demos, who fully supported the BP and called opponents idiots, so much that I won't eat at Demos' Restaurant anymore.

A problem all too common in our region.

Probably a good idea to lay low on this one and wait until the fact finders get their fill. My research into the names/companies mentioned aren't showing me the happy things I'd like; I withhold details.

I remain,

A Skeptic

Even Wilson County eventually said "thanks, but no thanks" to the so-called "bible park" and Wilson is the buckle of the bible belt.
