Well, there's a lot of apartment complexes in both the south part of town and the west.

Wink Renting in August

You should check out craigslist: san francisco bay area classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events

There are always tons of people looking for renters...go to the Nashville page and you'll find lots of options.

There's alot of good ads in Craigslist for apartments and houses for rent. That's where I'll look first when we come down in November. We'll just rent short term, tho, for about 6 months to see how we like the area, and to see which area we want to buy in.

blessings, Shen

West Nashville is pretty much all good from Vanderbilt all the way down West End/Harding through Bellevue. Not a lot to worry about regarding the "big four" (crime, drugs, gangs, and illegals). There are some spotty areas, however, around TSU/Meharry, which is also considered "West Nashville".

South Nashville is hit-or-miss. Generally speaking, the closer you are to Brentwood, the nicer the neighborhoods, and the closer you are to Antioch, the opposite is true. Driving east on OHB from I-65 to I-24, you can literally see the transformation from English to Spanish, currently starting around Nolensville Road but slowly inching its way up to Nippers Corner.

I have a house for rent-it is only 3 years old; south of Nashville it is a 3 bdrm 2.5 baths located in Spring Hill Tennessee (30 minutes South of Nashville). One of our neighbors is a nurse at Vanderbilt. It is a great area-let me know if you would be interested.
