If one worked downtown Nashville and the other worked in Blackman area of Murfreesboro? No kids yet, budget $200-$250k, circa 2000 year+...ideas, please!

My idea is to look in Nashville in the Granbery school districts in neighborhoods like The Woodlands, Barton Vale, Sterling Oaks, Brownstone etc. Some were built in the late 90s but are still more modern floorplans. Convenient to shopping and two interstates.

Your price range is perfect for that area, and even though you don't have kids yet, those school zones will be great for resale.

If you had kids, I would say Nolensville.

The Nashville to Murfreesboro commute is much better than the Murfreesboro to Nashville commute.

So y'all think staying around Nipper's Corner is the way to go versus moving to Smyrna (Rocky Creek) and the area west of 24 off Old Hickory Blvd? The latter seems to be part of Cane Ridge... any thoughts on Sugar Valley?

We live in Murfreesboro. I work in Green Hill and my husband works in Murfreesboro. We are looking in Franklin and Lenox Village.

The commute from Smyrna to Nashville is pretty tough.

Sugar Valley is huge. I am not a big fan of that neighborhood (don't love above ground utilities, no trees, etc.), but I love that you can walk from Sugar Valley to Lenox Village. That alone would make me consider it.

There are a bunch of neighborhoods along Cloverland with a Brentwood address in Davidson County. I love that location because it has such great access to all of the things in Brentwood and South Nashville. It's pretty along there, and as wmsn said, good school zoning. Your budget would put you at the lower end of most of those neighborhoods, but being in the least expensive house in a better neighborhood is a good move for resale. Searching Real Tracs for Davidson County 37027 would be a great place to start.

My only thought about that option is that the downtown commuter would have to work a lot harder to get there from Cane Ridge and especially Smyrna.

Your replies pretty much reinforces my thinking, just wanted to see if anyone else came up with anything different. Thank you for your thoughts!

You might want to check out the Donelson area or hermitage
