I like warm or even hot weather so in my opinion a heat wave is when the heat index is over 100. With high humidity here, that means the temps can be in the lower 90s and it can feel over 100 degrees.

Hot enough that walking outside is stifling. It is hard to breath in these temps.

The local television stations here have reported (at least 40 times) . . . that it was hot today.

Oh, so that's why the asphalt was melting . . .

twiggy...
I have lived in Phoenix...it is just as hot here right now as your temps...except the weight of the air is overwhelming. It's thick.
Same thing, tho...you cannot go out and exercise till about 9pm...no opening windows...you want to be in air conditioning 24/7.
It's alittle exhausting for me...being a CA transplant...
But then...I just have a piece of chess pie or eat some good ol' southern banana pudding....and all is well..

Well, my husbands about is about to descend on Nashville next week. Armed with a camera. It's song pitching time.lol Love those meetings. I'm still thinking we might have to move there on our way back east. My husbands laughing about the heat wave your having, so hopefully he will be humbled by his trip. We have had 100 to 107 temps with 79% humidity this whole monsoon season. It's been great. I'm wondering if this is how Nashville would be all summer. It beats 110 to 120 dry heat any day for me. I spend so much money on lotion. The air burns your skin. Ouch!
Although people are stinky in the humidity, ha, sweat more, but thats why it feels cooler. I hope he is right, but secretly, ha, you know 1/2 of me wants to win.lol Thanks for the comments!
