Hi! What banks are most prominent in Nashville. On the West Coast it seems like Wells Fargo and B of A are most prominent and on the East Coast it's Chase. What about Nashville? Who has the most chains?

Regions has the most branches. SunTrust and Bank of America are probably 2nd and 3rd as far as branches go.

As far as customer satisfaction goes, First TN and Pinnacle consistantly rank pretty high.

US Bank has it's share of branches around. F&M Bank may also be worth looking at.

According to the Nashville Business Journal, largest banks by assets in the metro.

Bank (HQ location)

1) Regions (Birmingham)
2) Bank of America (Charlotte)
3) Sun Trust (Atlanta)
4) Pinnacle (Nashville)
5) First Tennessee (Memphis)

Regions --> formerly AmSouth --> formerly First American

First American was a Nashville bank, so it's no real surprise that the bank that holds many of the original assets and accounts is the largest in the area.

Pinnacle was actually founded by some former First American executives. Whatever opinion you have of the bank, it would not surprise me if they quickly rise to become one of the biggest banks in the state.

Even though I don't live there, I have friends there -- they all bank with First TN & love the customer service there. One talks about her branch in Green Hills all the time! Someone named Nan, I think -- but seems to be a good bank.
