I work in Nashville close to the Grassmere Park area if anyone is familiar with it? The office is right behind the Zoo on Trousdale Dr. I wonder how far Fairview/Franklin/Murfreesboro/Mt. Juliet are from this place. All the cities seem to be nice with low crime rate, decent growth and not over priced but they wont work for me if I have to drive like an hour everyday each way. Can someone give me some info? Thanks.

I can only give you a rough estimate. A lot depends on what time of day you're talking about, and the exact location you're going.

Roughly, from Grassmere to
Franklin: 30 to 40 minutes
Fairview: 45 to 60 minutes
Murfreesboro: 45 minutes
Mt. Juliet: 30 to 40 minutes

Again, these are just a guess. I don't travel these routes on a daily basis so I could be way off.

If you are driving Northbound from Franklin, you'll be in a lot of traffic coming into the city. There are mornings when its bumper to bumper on the Northbound lanes as far South as 100 Oaks Mall. I travel from the city out to Brentwood, and the traffic is far lighter.

Murfreesboro and Fairview are the longest drive-times.

Mount Juliet would be the closest I reckon. The biggest thing to contend with from that direction is the airport.

Fairview would have you hitting traffic on Old Hickory towards Hillsboro Rd (and some on Highway 100 with some of the Bellevue traffic). 45 minutes without traffic according to Google, probably an hour or so with traffic.

Franklin, south of Cool Springs, would have you slow on I65 past HWY96 and then beyond that depending on location in Franklin. There are countless communities 15 minutes closer, but its 25 minutes without traffic according to Google to downtown Franklin, probably 35-45 with traffic.

Murfreesboro might have you on Harding heading east towards I24, which can get brutal, and then slow again on I24 past Smyrna. Its 40 minutes without traffic and probably add 30 minutes in traffic, mainly from Harding Rd.

Mt Juliet would have you headed a couple of different ways, but slowing near any connection with I40 until you are past the airport. Its under 30 minutes without traffic. Good days add 5-10 minutes, bad days add 25.

I'd imagine that Fairview, Murfreesboro, and Mt Juliet would all feel further than Franklin from your office - but there is typically more house for the money in these locations. As everyone will tell you, the schools in Williamson County are the most desirable. Home appreciation and scores back this up. Still, Gallatin, Mt Juliet, Murfreesboro and Fairview have some strong choices that deserve attention.
