Hendersonville
My family and I are looking to relocate to Hendersonville in June of 2008. We have visited only once and absolutely loved it. We live on Long Island right now, and it is just getting worse and worse here (affordable housing, taxes, crime, ect.) Does anyone have any input on how the market has been in Hendersonville? Also I would love to hear any input from anyone else who has recently relocated to this area or anything anyone has to share about Hendersonville..good or bad .
Thanks

I think Hendersonville is Nashville's premier suburb. We've got everything anyone could want when choosing a place to live:
-Great schools
-Situated on Old Hickory Lake
-Booming market
-Very low crime and VERY few illegals
-NO projects within the city limits
-Lots of parks and greenery
-Plenty of upscale housing options
-More affordable than Williamson County
-Free-flowing traffic around town
-Friendly people
-Hot chicks
Nowhere else in the Nashville area can boast everything on that list. No, I'm not a realtor, just a satisfied resident. PM me if you have any more questions about the area and I'd be glad to answer them.

This is a good topic. I recently moved to Nashville and I'm thinking about buying a home in Hendersonville. I have only been there once for about 30 minutes but it seemed nice. How long of a commute from Hendersonville to the Vanderbilt area around 7:00am and around 4:00pm? Any other info. about Hendersonville would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am coming to Nashville for 3 weeks in October, it's not a vacation but a trip to find an area i would like to move to from England and from all my research i have done Hendersonville looks like a nice place.
Does anyone know of any failry cheap places i can stay in H'ville or close by whilst i scout out the area.
Most of my time will be spent moving around the Nashville area looking at as many residential places as possible and finding out about employment etc.
I would love to move to H'Ville (if i like it?) next spring, find some part time work and start building some career paths. I would like to work in youth sports, soccer coaching etc and more of a hobby than anything else i write songs which is also fun. I am learning acoustic and electric guitar but can't sing so that's blown my country singing career : )

I grew up in Hendersonville, went to high school there, started my family there, and my parents and brother are still there. It's a great city and, with the new Indian Lake shopping area, there really isn't any need to drive elsewhere for good shopping and restaurants (if you like chain restaurants). The lake is a great draw, especially if you like boating or fishing (love the first, hate the latter). However, there is the drawback of driving into Nashville and the commuting traffic. But, compared to other suburbs, you get more value for your money in real estate, the schools are great, and the folks are very friendly. I'd highly recommend it.

My wife and I are recent transplants to Hendersonville and we love it. We bought an older house on the lake in March, 06 and immediately started remodeling. We've still got a way to go but it's way better than it was. Most everybody we have met have been super freindly to us. Shopping and banking are very convenient and, have Lowe's and Home Depot nearby is really handy. We were warned about high humidity but, in my opinion, it's not all that bad. But, I'm retired so I don't have to go outside and work in the heat unless I feel like hopping on the John Deere for a few laps around the yard. Being on the lake with a dock makes it nice to hop on the boat and cruise over to Anchor High Marina for a bite to eat and nice scenery along the way. Overall, we are very happy with our choice to move to Hendersonville. The worst part of living in Hendersonville is trying to fit the word 'Hendersonville' in those little tiny spaces on envelopes where you write down your return address. We certainly are not sorry we moved here.

Hi am also interest in the Hendersonville area. We are planning to move there this year. We have loved what we saw there. Can anyone give me more info on hville? How are the people, the schools, jobs? Can we have a lot of fun there and relax, without alot of crime. Is it a good place to raise our daughter? I would love to meet some people from the area. All the post I have read so far have been great reading. Thank You.

I grew up for most of my life in Suffolk County on Long Island. I live north of Nashville but go to Hendersonville for shopping all the time. I think you will love it there. It reminds me of being back on Long Island with all the things that are down there.
