California cities fill top 10 foreclosure list - Aug. 14, 2007
Topping the list is Stockton, CA with 1 out of every 27 homes being foreclosed. Memphis is 9th, with 1 out of every 49 homes being foreclosed. Nashville/Davidson is 61st, with 1 out of every 161 homes being foreclosed; Up 31% from the first half of 2006. |

The list cited is for the top 100 metropolitan areas in the country. Being in the bottom half of such a list speaks well for Nashville and Knoxville, in my opinion. While Nashville's increase of 31 percent is large, many other cities had increases in foreclosure much larger than Nashville's (446% in Hartford CT, 241% in Sacramento, 201% in Minneapolis, 139% in Phoenix, 116% in Charlotte, 106% in Cleveland, 105% in Raleigh, and so on). |

Mike in TN,
I was wondering where you came up with the foreclosure facts for Davidson County, TN. Do you know how many homes went into foreclosures on an annual basis? |

I figured that Memphis would make the Top 10...jeez, they DRAG down the state statistics in just about all categories.

I am suprised San Bernardino, CA isn't #1... I live in the county and it is seriously bad here. There are so many foreclosures and short sales here it is ridiculous. However, a lot are selling... they aren't just sitting vacant.
