My boyfriend and I will be down in 10 days (!!!) And I am exploring the options of what bank to use, or a credit union. The ones closest to my house are Cornerstone Financial Credit Union and Green Bank. Does/has anyone used either of these places? Any other recommendations for the Hendersonville area?

I don't use either, but my take on the banking scene in Hendersonville is that you have a lot of great options. There's been a marked trend recently to move away from larger banks (B of A, SunTrust) to smaller banks like Green Bank, Pinnacle Bank, and Volunteer State Bank due to the fees larger banks are beginning to charge.

Hendersonville has a great selection of banks from large to small, so it just depends on what you want. The local banks (Green, Pinnacle, Vol State, First State) have built their brands on delivering better service than the larger banks. However, the larger banks offer greater conveniences like more branches/ATMs. So it is just up to you...but personally I tend to gravitate towards the smaller banks for the better service.

I read this item in the Nashville City Paper and remembered this thread...this should give you an idea of what bank fees are in the area.

I've been a First Tennessee customer for a while. I've been happy with their level of customer service. I've always found them to be friendly and helpful.

Of course you don't have the benefit of having nationwide locations like you would with a bigger bank...but there is pretty good coverage around the major cities in Tennessee.

We had Wells Fargo, but there are no branches in Hendersonville so we just recently switched to US Bank. So far so good!
