I'd be interested to hear how 312 stacks up against real Chicago style...and if it justifies driving to Germantown to get it over Windy City.

add as many lanes as possible. same goes for 65s & trinity lane. i don't understand adding lanes here and there. just get it over with at once.

Amen. I'm not trying to be cynical, but I'm sure it's a money thing. TDOT's budget is only so much and consequently they're forced to band-aid problems like this. Still, it's kind of like knowing the hurricane is coming (continued growth and traffic issues for the forseeable future) and putting a couple of boards on the windows. It's a temporary fix until the problem becomes bigger and therefore demands more money.

As a complete aside, I still wish they'd look at building a bridge across the river connecting to Lakewood/Mt. Juliet to make it easier to get to the airport. Doubt that's ever going to happen. They commissioned a study to examine building a toll bridge but that's dead in the water, I'm sure.

Anyone know if Sprouts is in or out? I can't find a thing about it since it was announced. It says nothing about a coming soon on their website. Anyone have more information? My guess is, just like the Hampton Inn that has had the sign coming soon for over 6 years on it, it's not coming.

This was the last I heard about Sprouts. To be honest, I never heard anything except what was on this forum about it. So, it's not likely at this point I guess.

a toll bridge would be great, therefor it won't happen.

Ha...I know, right?!? TN just isn't a state that embraces toll anything. Still, it makes all the sense in the world. It's a tax on the people who will actually use the facility, be it a road or bridge. I do admit to hating driving in Florida knowing I might hit a toll road and have to scramble for change, but long term it makes a lot of sense, especially in this case.

Not true, Tennessee Tollway Act was passed by the voters and signed by Bredesen in 2007. In fact, if I recall correctly, it was crafted so a bridge across Old Hickory could be built (and fees collected).

After passage, I believe TDOT killed off the bridge (Hadley Bend Connector) idea.

The Tinfoil hat wearer part of me, wonders if the bridge concept was just a ruse to get toll collection (limited as it is) enabled in TN.
