Default Affordable apartments in Nashville?

My family and are considering a move to Nashville in the future and I was just wondering if it's possible to find 2 bedroom apartments for around 650 or less? The areas we're interested in are LaVergne and Smyrna so far, but as we are not familiar with the actual Nashville part, we have no idea where else to look and from what I've seen by checking online, most apartments are way over that budget. I have 2 kids so yes schools are important as well as safety. Are there any neighborhoods in Nashville itself that might be worth checking into? If we do make the move there, it's going to be hectic for a bit until we get to know the area more. Before we move we will be taking a trip there first to explore. If you have some information/advice/tips/resources/apartment searching websites, etc. regarding this please feel free to share. Thank you and have a lovely day.

Kiwi, you also have a post today saying you want to move to Tallmadge????

$650 is on the low end of apartments in the Nashville area, not sure about Smyrna & LaVergne, but someone here might know.

What would bring you to the Nashville area? What are you looking for? Maybe that would help us give you better advice.
