Default Nashville and crime

I keep up with the news in three areas of TN where I have recently lived or have family. I saw a couple of things on one of the sites that may be of interest here since people often ask about crime.
One story was about a drive by shooting and gang activity.
"Recently, Metro Police have increased its gang enforcement for the past several months with a project called Operation Safer Streets. Over the weekend, they made 34 arrests relating to gang activity, such as drug possession. Of those arrested, 19 claimed a specific gang affiliation.
Since May, 330 people have been arrested in the Operation Safer Streets Initiative. "

Also, the news posted this link:
http://www.police.nashville.org/stats/default.htm

It has crime stats up to June. For those less familiar with where they may want to move in Nashville, there is an interactive map at that link that may be helpful. It should help pinpoint some of the crime mentioned in the above article as well as other crimes.
