The problem is that when there's a wreck, they detour traffic that plugs up a 4 lane interstate to a side road. I remember once it too us 2 hours to get from LaVergne to Nashville on Murfreesboro Rd after they closed I24 for a wreck. In most places they work to clear wrecks quickly. Not here.

I hear you on the bike. We sold our Road King after we moved here after almost getting hit more than a few times. You'll be invisible to many drivers here. We miss the bike, but WAY too many real close calls to justify riding it.

As long as you're on the road by 6:05am you should be fine. The closer to 6:30 the worse the congestion gets. By 7am 24 inbound is a parking lot - for whatever reason, people commuting from RuCo simply can. not. drive worth a darn with a wreck reported almost every single day.

I see. We have a couple highways like that here where people have no idea of the difference between video game and reality. Maybe I'll just leave at 5:45am and drink a cup of coffee while I wait to punch in.
