Default opinions and schools and commute time

My family has narrowed down house choices to Spring Hill, Smyrna and Hendersonville. I've tried pulling up the TN report card, but their website seems to be down right now. I know Spring Hill probably has the best school system, but honestly it was my least favorite location. The neighborhood has no trees to speak of, and all the houses are identical. Smyrna has more character and charm. Hendersonville also had charm of a different sort, but the neighborhood we looked at there (near the lake) seems very strict. My husband is suppose to go back today and check out the neighborhood. My kids and I are back in Illinois.
How are the elementary schools in these three cities? What else is there to do (ie dance classes for little girls, community theatre, other artsy things)
My husband works off Harding at Grassmere. What will the 7:30 am and 4:00 pm communtes be like?
Lastly, I'm a licensed massage therapist looking to re open my own business in TN. Which area would be a better market? I prefer average people who want to take care of themselves or are addressing a specific problem. I also am certified to work with cancer patients.
I know this is a big ole' list, but I am very excited to move to beautiful TN!!

Considering the location where your husband works, I would look into Nolensville. It is in Williamson County but really close to where your husband works. It's a small town that has Brentwood on one side, and is close to Nashville. He would only have to take Nolenville Rd to Harding. With no traffic 15 min at most. Traffic would not be that early in the morning. Being in Williamson county it has Williamson County schools . It has Ravenwood, that is in Brentwood as the HS, but doesn't have Brentwood housing prices

Good advice, Diane.

Lots of artsy stuff nearby too. Arts For Life in the Factory in Franklin, dance classes in Brentwood, Pull-Tight and Boiler Room theatres in Franklin, etc.

Nolensville moms pipe in!

Good luck!

Sounds cool! I wonder why the realtor was trying to steer us away from Nolansville. There were three houses I wanted to look at there, and he acted like Nolansville was a no man's land. Is it because, like Spring Hill, the infrastructure isn't quite there yet to support the housing boom?

Nolensville is still a very small town but it is surrounded by Brentwood, you can pick up 96 and get to Frankin on side, Murfreesboro on the other. Also 24 is close by where you zip to downtown or take it points east.
Yes, they are building new homes there but its far from crowded. I heard Nolenville Rd may get crowded about 8am but there are ways around that.
I live in Nashville/Brentwood Border and it takes me all of 10 min to get to Nolensville. There are not many stores there but they are no far away. Its about a 5 min drive to Kroger, Publix. New shopping centers are going up there now and my favorite Barbeque place is there. There are also a couple of restaurants, a Sonic, Doller General. I love Nolensville's antique and gift shops that run along Nolensville Rd.
I don't like the idea that your realtor didn't take to everything you wanted to see. 3 homes imo is a pitance considering all the places my realtor took me.

Diane

Default Nolensville is growing!!

Nolensville is going to grow and grow and grow!!! You are going to pay less for housing and still have tons of the perks of living in Williamson County...ie the schools!!! Nolensville only had a Piggly Wiggly grocery store up until last year...now they have a kroger and a publix!! there is even a starbucks, and some pretty good reasturants!! It seems as though now you can pretty much get anything you need off of Nolensville Rd (south of OHB). If your hubby is working at the zoo...then you would be pretty dumb not to put some SERIOUS though into nolensville. The drive from hendersonville or smyrna would be monsterous!!
