I grew up in East Tennesse and have been lake swimming all my life. We now live in beautiful Donelson and are surrounded by lakes but I don't know where to go to swim.

Nashville Shores is a water park located on Percy Priest Lake, it has water slides, etc. however it is not cheap, if you just want a swim. There is a man made beach/picnic area on the Antioch side of the lake, I think the name of it is the Anderson Road recreation area, its like 2 or 3 dollars per car.

There are also a few areas on Old Hickory for swimming on the Sumner County side...one off of Walton Ferry Rd and one off of Highway 109. I'm almost certain there are access points on the Davidson County side too.
