Well, to be brutally honest - having lived in Nashville for 33 years - the hiring process within the Nashville Fire Department is a matter of politics and who you know. My ex husband tried to get on (even with having an uncle that was captain) and never could. It's tough - but I do wish your husband the best of luck and welcome!

Politics in Metro hiring? Why, I never heard of such a thing. Next you'll be telling me that the Metro Water Department is used for political patronage.
