Default Looking at Hendersonville, Franklin, or maybe Brentwood

My family will be moving to Nashville area in January. We have two boys, 1st and 4th grade. 4th grader has dyslexia and will need a school that will assist
with his needs. We hear the best schools are in Sumner & Williamson County's. We are looking at the public school systems. Schools are my biggest concern. My husband will be working at Venture Circle, Nashville. He would like a 40 min or less drive but will sacrifice. We would like to buy a
home in the right school district for our children and their needs. Range
$405,000 or less.
If anyone can give me some input on schools and subdivisions, I would really appreciate the information.
Thanks

Default your move

You are going to have shorter commute from Franklin or Brentwood the from Hendersonville...that is a fact. You should not have a problem finding a house in the Franklin or Brentwood area within your price range. The Grassland area in franklin has some older well established neighborhoods. Brenthaven in Brentwood is and older neighborhood with houses ranging from 250-400k. Not to mention it is a stones throw to I65. Either area is great and the schools are amazing. Good luck with your search and let me know of you have anymore questions..i'll do what i can.

I'm not sure I agree with jenntenn about the commute time. I don't travel these routes on a daily basis but I would have guessed the commute time to or from MetroCenter to either Hendersonville or Brentwood as about equal, with Franklin being the longest.

On most days, either of the three areas will be within about a 40 minute commute. On a day when there's a big accident on the Interstate . . . well, who knows.

I lived in Franklin and now live in Sumner County. I am a product of Williamson County schools and they are quite good. I have heard the same for Sumner (my kids are not school aged).

As far as commute time - depends on what side of Nashville you want to get too! If you're heading for the metro area I think it's about even - Franklin IS NOT a faster drive time to Nashville - it's about the same, and I can say that as someone who has lived in both areas (and who drives quite often to visit parents that still live in Franklin).

I personally prefer Sumner County over Williamson County, but Williamson definitely has more "stuff" going on. H'ville has a lake. It's all personal preference.

Another Subdivision that would fit your price range in Franklin is Fieldstone Farms. In Brentwood, Raintree Forest and Bridgeton Park

Cerise, do a house search for zip codes 37064, 37067, 37069, 37027 in the price range and amenities you are looking for. These are all in Williamson County. Most full time realtors have websites that let you access the local MLS listings that allows you to do this kind of search. Let me know if you need further information.

akm, realtracs.com is the public domain and is a good place to start but it does not allow a person the detailed search criteria that is offerred through many realtor websites. She can go to a realtor website on her own and access the private domain MLS and do a search that will be much more specific than is allowed through the public domain.
