OK, it's officially too hot to cook. Looking for good salads. There was a place in Cool Springs called "Tossed" that had nice (but expensive) salads. It has since been replaced by an Italian place I think.

I tried Newks for the first time the other day in Belle Meade and was very impressed with their salads. I also really enjoy the strawberry poppyseed and chicken salad at Panera Bread. IT's the perfect light meal for a hot summer day. As far as local salad bars are concerned, my faves are Turnip Truck and Whole Foods.

Whole Foods has a GREAT hot bar and salad bar. You can get it to go, or enjoy it there. Cool seating area, and live music some evenings, too.
