Or have they found it hard to fit in and be accepted?
Irreplaceable, I hope you'll also notice while you're browing on this forum that despite jabs that are thrown by unpleasant people, Nashvillians (and Tennesseeans) rarely rise to this kind of ugliness.

I just relocated from Texas (and previously California) and have felt nothing but welcome from everyone I've met. Enjoy your visit!

Ya Some people like alleycat have been really cool and helpful. I'm a really friendly outgoing person so hopefully I will get the same welcome as you. Thanks!

I've lived in Nashville for a little over a month now after moving from the Phoenix area. I find people to be very friendly and getting around town seems very easy after living in a city three times as big. I don't quite get the "sleazy touristy" remarks, afterall tourism is a major industry in this town and there's a great variety of music venues and it's not just country music. Also, Nashville is not overpriced as 12buttons suggests. Tennessee in general has a lower cost of living than most of the nation and although Nashville is more expensive than rural areas it's far cheaper than most big cities. I also think that Nashville is making efforts to improve the city with new projects and the downtown area is very impressive in my opinion.
