What can you posters tell me about Nashville? I keep hearing great things, but that is all from visitors, what about you natives? The job market? The social scenes? Overall quality of life in general? What about the young urban professionals?

I'm a native (more or less) . . . and I've made lots of posts about Nashville. Maybe too many! ;-)

Nashville is a pretty good town as far as the job market goes. Pretty much anyone can come here and make atleast $10/hr at Kroger if you're willing to work nights.

Vanderbilt, Nissan, Saturn, Dell, and other major companies have offices here so the professional job market is good too.

People like to say that Nashville is only about country music but that's not the case. There are quite a few blues and jazz clubs as well as alot of hip-hop places. The quality of life is good as long as you stay out of some of the high crime areas. Gangs have gotten bad over the last few years but it's nothing like Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, ect, ect.. Nashville, of course has two major league sports teams ( Titans, Predators ) and has probably 10 or more hospitals and is home to several colleges and universities including two HBCU's ( Fisk and TSU )
