I was going on crime statistics - but I can only check by city or zip code - so obviously there could be some nice areas I just can't find them from Atlanta ...

Did you mean talk comes from those who are NOT used to diverse areas?

We have a TN transplant here in WI. I won't quote him exactly, but he said he grew up in Antioch and he thinks it's only good for drugs and *bad word*. Stay away he said. I would imagine barring that sweeping generalization, crime stats by zip code would be good. What website?

I don't think they let you use links here, but if you google "crime mapping" the first hit is a good site that lets you pick crimes you are concerned about and zoom in and out of specific areas, and also "best places" the first hit is a site that gives you crime stats by city or zip.

Thought I would update this thread. We moved to Smyrna which is great BUT unfortunately we chose the Verandas at Sam Ridley apartments and they are not so great. The model was very nice, the tour was very nice, but when we arrived to move into our apartment it was a dump. We had numerous BAD stains on the carpet which would not come out, ceiling leaking damage in the closet, huge cracks above all the door frames (from settling?) which have only gotten worse, humidity damage to the bathroom and kitchen cabinets (swelling and cracks) and it is generally a dump for the 925$ per month we are paying. The worst part is the noise. A lot of RUDE people live here, music thumping in cars at 3 am, screaming children running wild up and down the stairs and playing ball in the parking lot, etc etc. But even if your neighbor is trying to be quiet I can literally hear mine using the restroom while I'm brushing my teeth. Ewww! I move a lot for work so I have lived in tons of apartments over the years and these are pretty awful - especially for the price. So for any future movers, don't let the nice model and tour fool you, pass the Verandas at Sam Ridley on by!

How many bed rooms do you have for $925? I hope no one. You could have found a nice, new, quite, gated community in Antioch for that price and much cheaper if its a one bed room, even in Donelson.

No it's a large 2/2 so I have no quibble with the size for the price. Just the noise etc.

What apartments would you choose now that you have had a chance to live in Smyrna? Would you now consider Antioch?

The majority of Antioch is nice. The blind leading the blind. PM me if you have any questions about Antioch I will help you. People confuse South Nashville and Antioch. Did Percy Priest Lake look ghetto to you? Obviously not unless you are from like Beverly Hills.
