We applied to usn for my daughter (for K) and we were waitlisted. I called the number they sent to me, but so far I havn't heard back. How does the usn waitlist work? Is it a true waitlist or a polite decline? Is it ranked or is it a wait pool? Those who were offered spots have to have their decisions in today. Given that, any prediction on when I can hear back? Thanks!

In the mid-1990's we inquired about getting our daughter in for pre-school or 1st grade (?) and they said she might clear the waitlist by about 5th grade. But that was a long time ago. Maybe it changed.

Ensworth might be an option for a non-church private school. Or maybe Harding Academy.

Just curious, what metrics or qualities do they use to determine which kindergarteners get accepted? It's not like they actually done something in their five years of life.

unless you know someone who can lobby for you waitlist is a polite reject. None of the schools actually send rejection letters that I'm aware of.

They did some basic testing, I can't remember the names of them, but I think more than anything, they are looking at social stuff.
Follow directions, listen, can they sit still....
That stuff.

Honestly, it's a big mystery.
Septimus, I have heard that they do indeed send out rejection letters, but I am not 100% on that.
