Checking out Nashville
I'm considering a move to the Nashville area from Southern California. I'm flying out to have a look the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I'll be interviewing and looking at homes during the day, but I'm a single woman and I'm traveling alone, so I wondered whether anyone can tell me some fun and safe places to check out while I'm there. Thanks for the help!

Demonbreun area (Dan McGuiness, etc...restaurants/bars)
Hillsboro Village (Vandy area-coffee shop/restaurants/bars)-Sunset Grill is nice
Downtown Nashville, Cool Springs area down in Brentwood/Franklin, Downtown Franklin, The Mall at Green Hills
Centennial Park-during the day
There are a lot of areas with thing to do around here, those are the highlights. Really depends on what you are interested in...just avoid Antioch, North Nashville, and parts of downtown and as a single woman you'll be ok for the most part. common sense applies of course.

Thanks for the response. My days will probably be pretty full, but I'd enjoy doing more of the local nightlife, rather than the touristy stuff. I want to get a feel for what life would be like if I make the move. I enjoy people, all types of music, a good steak or burger, a great martini, would enjoy seeing some of Nashvillle "history" while I'm there, so possibly some guided or self guided tours.

If you get the chance, I highly recommend visiting the Opryland Hotel this time of year, it is absolutely beautiful. They really go all out with the decorations throughout the hotel. If you have never seen it, it is also just a beautiful w/o. Plenty of shopping next door at the Mills Mall.

West End and the Gulch are good places that the "Locals" frequent the most. Also try some of the more "hidden" pubs in E. Nashville for some real eclectic vibes if you prefer.
BTW, first post on here!

Check out the West End area near Vanderbilt..it is really cool with lots of college people around which means more of an energetic atmosphere and some cool resturants and bars/coffee shops
