For those of you wanting, or contemplating, a move to the Nashville area, I think it's important for you to see the city before trotting over our way. Now yeah, we've all done Broadway and Second Avenue, but that's a big selling point to those that have never been here before. Nashville is a gorgeous, tree filled, and hilly city with lots of places to hang out and enjoy the mostly pleasant weather.
Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure. They are from Michael Davis's Photo Galleries at pbase.com Skyline ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() SCROLL>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ![]() Airport Southwest Airlines is the name of the game here in Nashville with over 85 daily flights to 27 cities across the US. ![]() Terminal (well part of it atleast) SCROLL>>>>>>>>>> ![]() Anything else, let me know!! |

Nice photos. Is that second one from around Fort Negley, or closer in?
By the way, I drew the structural plans for the Bell/Batman/AT&T Building that are in several of your photos. |

The second photo is in fact close to Fort Negley. It's a little farther west over close to the old school, matter of fact it's on Olympic Drive. Great spot to go to, but it gets a little shady after nightfall. I proposed to my wife up there believe it or not. Very interesting to have your aquantance! The AT&T Tower (man that takes some getting used to) has always captured my fascination. Being an avid urban, skyscraper, and architectual geek, it really fascinates me. Even more so it's likeness to a tower in Perth, Australia! |

Personally, I think the Batman building is a bit "brutal" looking, at least for that location. I hope they build the new taller tower just to overshadow it. |

Tony is suppose to break ground next month. He already has the permit he needs to start turning dirt on the site for Signature Tower. |

I didn't quite understand the FAA's concerns. Yes, that tower will be tall, but most larger cities have tall buildings. I used to fly; I worried more about TV or radio towers out in the countryside than I ever did about buildings in downtown Nashville.

It's odd and some of my friends over at the airport said Tony should have no problem. No flight plan out of or into BNA takes airplanes even remotly close to downtown like the FAA makes it sound. It's just political posturing and nothing more. I call the FAA bluff on this along with most people in Nashville. |

Oh, you had Riverfront Park in your photos. I drew the orginal plans for that too. They originally has a firm out of Boston doing the design but they fired them and gave it to Barge, Waggoner, Sumner and Cannon, where I worked at the time. Have you got any photos of the Capital building looking up from the Bicentennial Mall? I've posted one stock photo like that here. |

With your interest in architecture, do you ever do any work for architects?
I work for a structural engineering firm, but I work with the bigger architecture firms in Nashville (and elsewhere). |
