mortgages
Hi there. In response to your second question, people from Canada can get a loan. The same rules apply to Canadians that apply to Americans of verifying income, assets and credits. The only problem with your husband starting his own business is that the mortgage lender will not be able to count his prior years' income unless he is just transferring the same business here. Regardless, talking to a mortgage lender or broker will be your best source to help you determine qualification.

All, and that's no joke, ALL the Canadians that my wife and I have encountered or hosted here in Nashville (we have some friends from Ottawa) have loved everything about Nashville. Perhaps it's the fact that they are this far south, have a decent winter, they are close to the ocean with far less to pay to live, and have a real hockey team that turns them on. I have no idea, but every one of them fell in love with the place after about one day. To them, and to yourself, I say come on! We'd love to have ya here!!!

so excited now!
I am so thankful for all your posts. I'm really excited about coming down next week. My family will be joining me later in the week for their first trip to Nashville and I hope they enjoy it enough to seriously consider the move. I know that the company that I work for are VERY anxious to have me move down.
This will be my third trip down, but my first opportunity to really explore the area.

Canadian in Knoxville
[
Well, I am not in Nashville, but nearby in Knoxville... first off, my experiences
I'm looking for some feedback from Canadians in Nashville.
My family is looking to relocate in 08 and I'd love to know what resources you used before making your deciscion.
We have two children, 12 and 8, and I'm wondering how different the education will be for them? Are we ahead, behind or basically the same in our curriculums?
What was the best thing about moving to Nashville? And what do you like the least? What do you miss about Canada?
This is such a huge decision, so any insight would be helpful.[/quote]

Illegal aliens have no problem getting mortgages in the US, if financially qualified.
