Looking to relocate to Nashville area...advice needed
Hey there! I'm looking to relocate to the Nashville area. I'm currently living in Central FL and have lived here almost all my life but I have a degree in the music/recording industry and am now looking to pursue work in my field. My biggest concern besides work of course is finding a place to live. So my question is where are some safe affordable places to live in and around the Nashville area? I'd be looking to rent a 1-2 bed rm apartment/condo starting out, preferably in the $500-600 range and no higher. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
Jen

For that price, you will only find a 1 bedroom unless you want to live in bad hood for a 2 br. If I were in your shoes, I would look for a house to share with some other girls-maybe you can make some contacts this way for your career-there are always girls here looking for roommates... craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums is a great place to find a room/apt. good luck

Just be careful with craigslist. It's full of scammers (from overseas and elsewhere). DO NOT send anyone money for something like the first-months rent or to hold an apartment for you. Wait until you actually get here before folking over any cash.
If you're interested in a very short-term roommate rental situation until you get settled in, send me a PM. I have a female friend who rents part of her house. The rent would be within your range.

alleycat, do you know about any houses for rent. I have been reading the posts online and you seem to be in the know. I am relocating within the next couple of months from Michigan and am looking to rent a house with some acreage for three horses. Thanks.

A few questions first. What price range are you looking at? How far out are you willing to go? Are you going to be working in Nashville?
A real estate agent would be able to look up what's available, or I could check the "to rent" ads in The Tennessean newspaper.

Alleycat,
Thanks for the reply, sorry I didn't read this sooner. I appreciate you sharing this with me however it looks like my move to TN may need to be postponed a little while longer due to a recent family emergency. But thank you again for your advice and help.
