OK, I'm lost...........How about if someone could suggest a hotel that is not "Out of the Way" of everything. I don't mind taxi's or busses...but would like to be able to walk to some of the entertainment............Sorry, but since I've never been there, it's hard to say what or where I want. Thanks again.

I'm sorry we confused you. Any of the reasonably priced, nicer places downtown near lower Broadway would suit you, I believe. It's a little touristy, but there's a number of restaurants, places like the Wildhorse Saloon and BB King's and other music clubs, the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Sommet Center (if you like NHL hockey), the Ryman Auditorium (the original home of the Grand Ole Opry; the auditorium is still used, just not for the Grand Ole Opry), the Nashville Symphony Hall, etc. Either the Ramada you mentioned originally or the Holiday Inn Express would fit the bill. All sorts of stuff would be within walking distance; sometime a short walk, sometimes a bit longer walk.
If you stayed somewhere in the lower Broad area and if you then wanted to go to the current Grand Ole Opry House (where the shows are performed), you'd have to take a cab. Or take the General Jackson Showboat. I'm sure the General Jackson has a "romantic cruise" or some such for Valentine's Day. It run between downtown at Riverfront Park to the Opryland Hotel area.
If you the wanted to go to The Bluebird Cafe, you'd have to take a cab or bus.
If you wanted to visit Music Row (where the studios are) you could easily take a bus from lower Broadway or a cab.
You might even like going to the Opryland Hotel (not to stay, just to visit); it's an impressive structure (which I helped design, by the way!!) and I'm sure they'll have some special events for Valentine's Day. Yes, you would have to take a cab there too from Broadway.
Does that "unconfuse" you somewhat? A little bit? Not at all?
If you had to had to scratch something off your list, I'd probably suggest scratching the Bluebird. It's a great place to go, but I think you'll find enough for one visit downtown and/or out at the Opryland area.

Terrific and thank you so very much once again. You have set my mind straight now. I think we will stay in either the Ramada or the Holiday Inn Express. Both have good reviews from past tourists. No, my husband and I have been married long enough so that we both would probably say.....no, nothing really has to be romantic, just convenient and clean. We are anxious to go to Nashville in hopes that maybe we can also look at the city as a prospective retirement home. Again, I LOVE MUSIC. God Bless

The Temptations and the Four Tops (or what's left of them) are playing the Ryman on February 17th.
You should go to the Ryman anyway. They'll let you stand on the stage; just about everyone in music has stood on that stage at one time, not just country stars.

The Nashville Symphony has a Valentine's Day special. The Nashville Symphony is "world class" and they have a very nice new symphony hall not far from lower Broad.
