My husband and I are coming to Nashville during the week of Valentine's Day and would like a hotel downtown. We're not planning on renting a car so will need to walk everywhere if possible. There is one in the downtown area I've found on the internet...it's only a 2 star but the reviews from other tourists have been great...needs a little TLC and updating but OK for the price. I don't know if I can put the name of the hotel on this forum so I'm hoping someone can come back to me with ideas. We don't want anything that will cost an arm and a leg........just nice, convenient for the first time tourist in your city.
Thank you............... ![]() |

You can post the name of the hotel.
One idea might be the Holiday Inn Express downtown. |

The Courtyard by Marriott might also be worth looking at. It's probably a bit more expensive than the Holiday Inn Express, but it's right smack in the middle of the touristy area of downtown and is probably cheaper than some of the bigger hotels (Renaissance, Doubletree, Hilton, Sheraton) or the swankier hotels (Hermitage, Union Station). |

I don't really remember. Those hotels change ownerships so often it's hard to keep up with them. The current Sheraton was once the Hyatt (the one with the revolving restaurant on top).

The hotel I read about on the internet was the Ramada in downtown Nashville. However, I'll so some checking on the Holdiay Inn Express also. Which ever will be more convenient for our circumstanc. Thanks alot for your answers.

The Ramada is across the river from downtown near the stadium. You'd probably have to do a little more walking staying there, but not so terribly much.

OK, I don't think I want to be across the river...........maybe something downtown and within walking distance to the Grand Ol Opry, Bluebird, maybe a descent honky tonk, restaurants, etc.

The Bluebird is not downtown, unfortunately.

The Bluebird is about 5 miles from downtown in Green Hills on Hillsboro Pike. Easy cab ride.

From the sound of it you'd want to be around the lower Broad area (except as JMT pointed out; the Bluebird is in Green Hills). The walk across the river isn't bad; there's even a pedestrian bridge. The Country Music Hall of fame is also along Broadway. A little further west of downtown is Music Row. That is the area where most of the record labels and studios are. It's too far to walk however. There's these trolley-like things that run about town. You could catch one of them and go to various places as well. Of course, it's nicer to ride one of them when the weather is nice. Who knows what it will be like in February. |
