Default commute to downtown

How much time should I give travelling from M'boro to Broadway and I-40 in a typical commute? I'll need to arrive by 9:30 am. I thought if I left by 8:45 it should be ok. Any suggestions

Probably okay. That will be after the main rush hour. However, they might still be handling whatever accidents have occurred that morning. If this is your first day or two or a new job, I'd suggest leaving 15 minute earlier however just to be on the safe side (who wants to be late their first day?). I don't travel that route on a regular basis; I'm just going by what I've heard from other people.

You'd think that'd be OK, but I'd give more time...considering you still have to get parking downtown and you have to plan for the ultimate problem: idiot nashville drivers getting into accidents that block multiple lanes of interstate traffic. Trust me, they do it often. The other day there was an accident that blocked ALL lanes and forced detours...my 45 minute commute became 90 minutes.

I would allow myself more time. I would leave home around 8 am, and if you're early, sit in the car & read a newspaper/book. Better to be a bit early than late.

There always seems to be an incident near Fesler's Lane.

Yep. It seems like there's accidents at the same five or six spots every morning. I've sometimes joked that they could play the exact same traffic report on the radio day after day and no one would know the difference.

"Fessler's Lane . . . Myatt Drive . . . Trinity Lane . . . White Bridge at I-40 (although not as much now) . . . "

yeah, Bell Rd. is a mess.. If I end up commuting from the 'Boro, the hours might not be peak traffic times.
