I've lived in White House for the last 2 1/2 years, my wife for about 14. Overall, I like it fine --- but it does have its quirks. Demographically about 96% white (take that as good or bad), generally very good schools but already overloaded due to steady population growth. Strong Bible Belt town --- churches everywhere. Easy to get around and all the basic living needs (grocery, pharmacy, hardware, etc...) are only a few minutes away. and only 12-15 miles from larger towns that offer more. Awesome 7 mile long scenic greenway, and spacious city park and soccer complex. WH tends to run a bit cooler due to being located on the Highland Rim. Close to Kentucky, where the sales tax is lower and gas is cheaper. No sizeable employers here, so call WH home and go to work in Hendersonville, Goodletsville, or Nashville. Higher property taxes than surrounding towns. Excellent police and fire depts.,,,, very low significant crime rate - and traffic laws are strictly enforced. Most of the old town structures have disappeared in the name of progress, so there is no small town/town center character. Nice, sit down restaurants are almost nonexistant due to city leaders' strong objection to allowing wine and mixed drinks in dining facilities. Bottom line is that WH is a nice, safe place to sleep and exercise. For much more you have to go elsewhere, which is not necessarily a bad thing.
