My wife and I were going to retire in TN, but we are greatly concerned about the recent news that TN is one of the states that have Muslim enclave communities. Can anyone share any information on this? Thank you.

Tn was one of 22 states where they found these extremist communities, do you have any knowledge of this.

I wouldn't worry too much. We have plenty of other extremists to keep them in check.

"They" who?

We have extremists of all kinds.

You will get more info by Googling than asking here.

I LOL-ed at that one.

OP, if your referring to something like Islamberg in NY, then those towns are in many states. The one in NY is, in fact, quite sketchy. Imam Ali Gilani (sp?) who started that particular community has shady connections to Jamaat Al Fuqra (sp?) and to the disappearance/murder of Daniel Paul--his beheading of which some may already be familiar with.

Anyway, none of these allegations have led to an arrest. Like I said, shady as hell, but so far no solid connection to extremism. I can't speak for TN, but what I will say is that the nearby communities in NY can't stand the place.

OP: I would like to politely suggest that maybe retirement location is not your biggest concern. Take a few deep breaths and find a more rational news outlet. Oh, and cute animal videos - those help too. Best wishes to you and your wife.

There are all sorts of legal ethnic and religious enclaves in TN. The Muslims are the least of which you should be concerned about.
