Finally making the move to Nashville and am moving into Lenox Village this weekend and start my new career at Nissan in Smyrna in less than 2 weeks. I loved the Village and that's why I'm renting there but what about the area up the road? As far as shopping and stuff is the Walmart and Kroger's safe feeling? I've seen some people be a little "negative" on the whole Nolensville road/OHB area. Either way this location is just for a year or two until I am ready to buy again.

Good luck....you may recognize me from the Preds boards haha. Go Preds.

...in regards to your questions, I have limited knowledge of that area.

I used to live in the subdivision across the street, Bradford Hills. It's a great area! I would steer clear of those two stores unless you just love Wal-mart. If you go down Nolensville Rd. towards Nolensville there is a Kroger, Publix and some other stuff that are much nicer. Also go a little further down the road into Nolensville and check out Martin's BBQ. Delicious!

So the judgemental map of Nashville is true then about that being the scary walmart? lol. It just seems like there's plenty of options right there instead of driving south. But again, I'm not sure how much further south down Nolensville rd you're talking about either.

We live in this area and that's the Walmart we go to when we need a Walmart visit. I don't hesitate to go there--at all. All of the people I know go there without any problems. We live closer to the Kroger and Publix on down Nolensville Road at Concord. For everyday stops, we usually go to one of those. Welcome to the area!

I'm not sure what's "scary" about that Walmart (other than what is *scary* about any Walmart experience). I go there occasionally when I need something from Walmart. I probably wouldn't go in the middle of the night, there was a shooting at a car wash across the street a few years ago, but nowhere is completely safe in the middle of the night.

The Kroger is fine, but the one just south at Nolensville and Concord is a lot nicer. There is also a Publix and Walgreens at that same intersection.
Lenox Village is a great neighborhood.

Unless the mere sound of the Spanish language frightens you, then I wouldn't classify that particular Walmart as scary.

The reason not to go there is because Walmart is an evil corporation and shopping there is somewhat reminiscent of visiting a county fair.

Don't let Nolensville Rd (north of OHB) scare you, btw. Parts of it are junky, and many signs are in foreign languages (not just Spanish, btw). It's really a unique area...I think it's just one you have to get accustomed to before you're comfortable.

Also, I don't live in Lenox Village, but I do visit there often. There's a great burger place there...Burger Republic. It's on the pricey side for a burger ($10-11 for a burger and side), but not fancy...just really good. Laid back atmosphere, friendly people. Good beer selection, too.
