Been house shopping for months now but actively (everyday) since living here, for 1.5 months.

Our main focus area has been the Hendersonville/Gallatin area. We've only bid on two homes, one being new construction which we still can make a deal on but it's not my fav. It's a back-up and in the subdivision "Savannah" which I really love.

We have ventured out to look in two subdivisions. One is Brandywine Pointe in Old Hickory. We like the subdivision but the taxes are a little high as well as the HOA fess. The surrounding area is not that nice either.

The other subdivision we really like is Willow Creek in Mount Juliet. It's located very close to shopping, reasonable taxes, low HOA, gorgeous millwork and craftsmanship.

Can anyone give me info on these surrounding areas in comparison to Savannah and Woodhaven in Hendersonville/Gallatin.
I would really appreciate it. We have invested so much time researching and learning all areas of Hendersonville. We don't really know much about Mount Juliet and Old Hickory except that our branch manager of our bank told us Hendersonville is nicer than Mount Juliet. My main concern in either of these two areas is acceptance of Northerners such as us and convenience to all shopping.

I really like Hendersonville but the pool of homes is slim for what I want. Plus I would definitely get more bang for my buck in Mount Juliet. I like the builders out in Mount Juliet compared to Creekside and Drees.
If I had time I would build with Botsko but I can't handle the 6+ months to build.

Thanks for any and all info.

I'd hold out for Hendersonville.

Mount Juliet is fine, but it's too spread out for me.

Former MJ resident here...

If the Willow Creek subdivision (as opposed to the apartments by the same name that are up near Charlie Daniels Park in Mt. Juliet) is where I think it is, that's a nice area. That particular stretch of Mt. Juliet Road south of Central Pike has some nice spreads on it; reminded me somewhat of parts of Long Hollow Pike.

Hendersonville is generally regarded as nicer because it's an older, larger, more established community with more high-end real estate on the lake; it IS nice, no question. Mt. Juliet is smaller, but you might be surprised at what's around. (Little known fact: Wilson County has the state's second-highest median family income.) If you like nice houses near the lake, Mt. Juliet has plenty of sweet lakefront also, just no development as large and eye-popping as, say, Fairvue. On a per-capita basis, Mt. Juliet and Wilson County are doing very well for themselves, but because it's behind Hendersonville on the growth/maturity curve, there are things Hendersonville does better, e.g. parks.

When looking at "Old Hickory" properties, be careful you know which county they're really in. The Old Hickory zip code area crosses into Wilson County, so some places with OH addresses are actually in Mt. Juliet.
