Greetings, all!

I have scoured the forum and not found information that I need urgently! My family is moving from Ohio in a week and we have chosen the area by Percy Priest Lake to rent until we find a home to buy in the Metro area.

Does anyone know anything about the Spinnaker Cove apartments?

We won't actually see the place until we move in and I need to make a decision in the next few days.

Thank you in advance!

Online reviews aren't great but it's mostly unhappy renters who will go through the effort of writing a review.

Is there a reason that you are looking in that area to rent? Are you planning to eventually buy a home in that area as well?

That is so true about unhappy reviewers! I do keep that in mind when ready scary reviews about particular complexes but those comments do creep into second- guessing myself!

We like this area because a 3 BR with a pool is more affordable and the proximity of the lake will provide a fun summer for our kids, lessening the trauma of the move. Although living in the middle of no- where is not what we ultimately want in a home, our middle daughter might be attending a school only 15 minutes away and my husband will most likely find a shop for his business within 20 minutes. Where we end upp buying will most likely be another story.

So, do you have any insight to share?

My niece works at a YMCA camp (Widjiwagan) which is on Percy Priest Lake (west side) and I have to say I am always surprised that there aren't million dollar mansions all around it. It's actually a reservoir, stated in the mid 40's and finished in the mid 60's so that may have something to do with it. It is an area known for cheaper housing (as is Antioch) but from what I have read, you might be better off looking in Mt. Juliet? AND this is not from personal experience, just from driving my niece to camp. A lot of apartment complexes here have pools and the lake will still just be a short drive away. Not all of the shoreline is accessible since it's a reservoir and I believe looked after by the Army Corps of Engineers? Nashville Shores is a water park and they sell season passes. It's near the northern tip so that might be a good option. I see you have also posted on the "Good apt in Hermitage" thread. Good idea! You can also use the "SEARCH THIS FORUM" option in the blue bar, all the way to the right. It only appears when you don't have a thread open. Best of luck!

In the event that my middle daughter doesn't get into the school she is auditioning for, she will attend Mcgavock. My youngest will be at Ruby Elementary. I know I butchered those names

I dont know much about Spinmaker Cove. I can however recommend Cherry Creek Apts. We have had lots of friends living there before they moved into their own homes. Hve always heard good things about it.

I live in Spinnaker Cove apartments now and I had moved quickly without being able to visit before moving in either. I am quite content here...there are renovated and classic apartments and they do a good job of keeping up with them. I've not had any issues in the 7 months I've lived here. Maintenance is always quick to help and the management makes a good effort to keep the residents in the loop when it comes to community changes or updates. I am a single female living alone and have never felt unsafe in this part of town or these apartments. It's a great area for a good price. There are a bunch of other apartment communities in the area if you wanted to expand your search but you can't go wrong with Spinnaker Cove. Hope this helps!

I lived there when I first moved to Nashville. They aren't awful, but they aren't awesome either. Management was pretty useless.
