We now live in San Antonio but moved from Nashville last year and also chose to live in Bellvue as our first home and it IS in Nashville. However for a young married couple I would say down near Vandy/Belmont would be the most fun! I lived off of Belmont Blvd as did my husband (who was my boyfriend at the time). It was a fun and exciting area. Always lots going on and close to everything. Nashville is a very fun city! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Alleycat,

I read from you earlier posting that you know some Hungarians in Nashville ?? My husband and I just moved to Nashville ( from OHio), and I really miss speaking my own language and hang out with Hungarians....I am having a hard time finding HUngarian communities in TN, or is there any? I am 25, and it would be great to meet some new Hungarians any suggestions?
Thanks

I'd be glad to put you in contact with the two I know (send me a Direct Message). I don't know any younger Hungarians who aren't Americanized (in other words, they probably don't even speak Hungarian), but my friends might. There are not a lot of native Hungarians in Nashville, but there are a few. One used to run a restaurant downtown (Helma's Soup Kitchen), but it's been closed for years.

CJ, as far as I know, the Institute For Software Integrated Systems at Vanderbilt has a lot of brilliant Hungarians working there. Most of them were born in Hungary and came to US to study or work as researchers or engineers. I have worked there, so I know several of them.

Default Looking for Hungarians

Hi CJ, I am actually looking for someone Hungarian to meet with for a while. My girlfriend lives in Budapest, we met a couple of years ago. I have been starting to learn Hungarian for the last few months, and the only time I see good progress is when I'm actually in Budapest being forced to speak it. She will also be moving here around January. She's asking if I know of any Hungarian communities around here so she can feel a bit closer to home when she moves. It would be cool to get together with you guys sometime. Have you met any others since you've moved here?

Hi, it looks like this is an older topic but I'm Hungarian, just moved here recently and I'm looking for Hungarians too.
