I can't really tell you much about Traceside other than to mention that it's in a very nice area in general.

My Realtor liked Heartstone but it wasn't for me. It's off Old Hickory Blvd, and I prefered the subdivision to be off a more countrfied road. Heartstone is in Brentwood, but Davision County part, so Davidson County taxes and schools.
It has older homes, most about 2900 sq feet. I'm in Winfield Park, off Holt Road, not far from Heartstone. I believe there are houses on the market in my subdivision which are in same price range as Heartstone. They will be larger. Mine was not built to orginal specs as the first owner customised it.
It depends where you are working , what would be convient to you, since all are in different locations that you mentioned.

Hearthstone
I have a good friend that lives in Hearthstone. She has a great house and got it for a very good price. The houses are a little dated though. She spent about $30K updating hers.

Thanks for the posts. My husband will be working near the airport and I haven't even started looking for a job yet. We seem to be all over the map as to areas because the choices in Nashville seem very limited to me. I am shocked at housing prices and I am moving from the Chicago area so I know about high prices. Most of what I have seen seems overpriced and outdated. Looking in the 350,000 to 450,000 price range and would like a newer home in an area with larger yards, or at least a yard that is not just flat open fields with privacy fences around your postage stamp yard. As most houses seem to be two story the homes seem to offer no privacy or sense of space.
If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

nope that' svery accurate..Nashville prices popped several years ago- land is pricey - you won't get much for the price - and the traffic is very congested around the airport so make plans now.

The newer houses have less land. The older houses built in the 80s and 90s have more land but some of them have lesser sq footage at that price range.
I oped for a Larger Home, less land. I had over an acre at my previous house but much less sq footage. There are some ranch style houses in my subdivision, but they do have a Media room upstairs, those will be at the lower end of your price range. These are not dated, built in 2000's.
My community has a nice walking pond with a Gazebo. There are some for sale here, different models.
It is not far from Airport here. My husband commutes to Elm Hill Pike and Brilly Pk and its about 20-25 min depending on traffic.
Good Luck!

Diane Giam,
What area are you in? How long is the commute to the airport area and downtown Nashville? I appreciate your input, because from looking on the internet, I am very confused. The more I look the more I think we may rent. Nashville's market is looking very overheated, which happened here in the Chicagoland area and now we are seeing a correction. It appears that Nashville is 1-2 years away from what we are experiencing.

I don't think Nashville will have the correction Chicago and the East coast has had because here you are buying more house for the money. In NJ this house would be 3 times the amount even with the correction there. Also taxes there are thru the roof and Nashville Real Estates taxes are much lower. Also a lot of Huge companies are relocationing here. Nissan recently moved their California headquarters here.
I'm in Winfield Park, which is off Old Hickory , Edmonson and Holt Road. Its 20 Minutes from the Airport. My husband flies out on business so takes that route. He works North of the Airport, so 25 min for his commute.
There are a lot of houses for sale here now. I know a neighbor sold there house 4 times but the buyers mortgages were not approved. They had to close on the home they bought, so now have 2 homes. They have decreased the price a lot lower than the ones that just closed sold for.
Diane
FYI in Brentwood my house would be $100,000 more. I am right on the border so my Address is Nashville. Ther

60439,
Would Franklin be too far south for you? Your high side price range gives you good options there (a desirable community for other clients I have worked for from Chicagoland). Also, the areas of Nashville/Brentioch/Antioch have a few choices backing to tree lines (for privacy) at the low side of your price range.
Your price rage also gives you a number of options minutes East of the airport in Mt Juliet. I know online can be confusing, but once you get to drive around and look for yourself - its becomes much, MUCH easier.
What else are you looking for in your next home?
