We moved from Cambridge, MA to Nashville back in 2008. We had np plan other than to stay close to the city for employment reasons. Nashville is awesome as is the surrounding areas within middle Tennessee. I however could not imagine living anywhere but Davidson County, I sincerely feel that Nashville has so much to offer for such a diverse population that any money you save living elsewhere isn't worth it. East Nashville is great and offers so much but if you want to be a pioneer Wast Nashville , the nations is quickly up and coming but most likely past it's peak as an investment, Germantown and "SoBro" offer a lot and if you like down around Vanderbilt can be a great place if you don't mind spending more. If you ever look at the Tennessee flag there is the blue circle within the red field, if you look at demographics and voting on a map Davidson County is the blue spot within a red field. There is so much going on, so much growth and excitement. Welcome!

Hi all, my family and I are also from Massachusetts and considering a move. I am a Registered Nurse and we would be relocating in the summer if I were to take a job at Vanderbilt. We had originally been looking at Charleston sc and Wilmington NC but an opportunity may have presented itself at Vanderbilt so I have some questions about this area as well. We have 2 sons ages 8 and 9 so schools are important, we are looking for a family friendly area, We have two labs and love to be out walking them so a safe area for walking and bike riding would be ideal. youth sports are also very important, both boys play football and tennis etc., We would be looking to spend up to $350 but don't really want to go above that. I would ideally like to be within a 30 min drive to the hospital. any suggestions?
