This is such a beautiful development downtown.

It adds to the density, excitement and overall things to see and do downtown.

I could see a company wanting to locate in that specific spot, as well as wanting to live downtown there in the middle of everything.

Nashville will have several duplicate developments upcoming like this one: Nashville Yards, One River North, and the many other live/work/entertain developments popping up around downtown.

It could be a huge step in getting locals to spend more time downtown (i.e. before and after games/events more than likely), especially after the scathing article about Lower Broad that just came out from the Nashville Scene.

Giarratana Pays $12M for Site Set for Tower

A groundbreaking looms for a downtown mixed-use tower planned for Church Street following Nashville-based Giarratana LLC having paid $12 million for the site.

To be called Prime (previously known as 801 Church), the 38-story tower from Nashville-based Giarratana LLC will have 350 residential units and two retail spaces (one each at Parks and Church and at Ninth and Church, respectively), according to a document. The address is 801 Church St., at the intersection with Rosa Parks Boulevard and with Nashville Yards unfolding nearby.

Between this and his other tower at 900 Church and the resumption of construction at Nashville Yards, Church St. is about to be a mess for next year or so.

Yeah for sure.

Like most of downtown Nashville, it too will be a construction zone until at least 2024/2025.

But by 2030, Nashville downtown will be on another level.

Lost in the headlines is the announcement today that the Beaman property south of downtown has been purchased by Marquette, whose president is a Vandy alum. They will build the North Edge with 12-story office, 2 8-story residential and 1 8-story hotel. Nashville is booming as more people flee the mismanaged states.

Altogher, more than 60 buildings over 250' by 2025.

I understand there are six buildings over 400' that are about to start. These include the Giarratana "Prime" and "Alcove", the Ritz Carlton, 2nd and Peabody with 2 buildings (610' and 450'), Circle South at 450' and the Amazon III tower rumored to be over 650'. All would be among the Top 10 tallest buildings in Nashville today. There are rumors that Giarratana wants to pop the 600' ceiling with a 700'+ tower. I think we'll have to wait until his two current towers are well underway. And the Fairmont (450') will likely get started in the next two years.

Currently, there are only two buildings taller than 400' under construction, the Conrad Hilton and The Four Seasons Residences.

The list of 400'+ towers in Nashville right now is:
ATT
505
Four Seasons (u/c)
Fifth-Third
Bridgestone
Snodgrass (Tennessee Tower)
Fifth & Broad residential
Pinnacle
L&C
Conrad Hilton (u/c)
City Center

By 2025, there will be at least 17 towers over 400'. This doesn't even include the dozen or so towers over 200' that are in various stages of development.

Just the body shop building on Hawkins. The actual dealership area is on the market and will yield something far more substantial.

Just unbelievable, dream growth for any city to have--in a super condensed 20 year timeframe.

Nashville in 2010 was in the same city league (arguably) as Louisville, Memphis, Birmingham, Oklahoma City and Salt Lake City, etc.

Nashville in 2025-30 will be in the same city league as Charlotte, Austin, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, and Kansas City.

Nashville needs a rapid rail line, or some rail of some sort--that should be a huge priority.

NTT Data announces downtown tech hub with 350 jobs

The U.S. wing of a Tokyo-based tech giant revealed plans on Monday morning for a hub in downtown Nashville involving about 350 jobs and a $9.9 million investment.

Top executives from NTT Data Services made the announcement alongside Gov. Bill Lee and other state officials. The information technology company is moving quickly, already posting some job opportunities, including for the role of the Nashville hub's senior director.

Dan Albright, senior vice president of consulting at NTT Data, says the company expects the 350-job figure to grow "significantly" in the next three to five years.

"We think the growth here is limitless," Albright said at the announcement.

Maybe they can eventually fill in that stupid surface parking lot behind the HCA tower
