Stay safe everyone.
North Texas is supposed to get ice and snow starting Sunday night. I'm going to get my bread and milk tonight.

Pretty decent snowfall right now.

The big question is....when does it turn to sleet/freezing rain and how much does it accumulate?

I think tonight's weather will be worse in terms of falling branches = power outages.

But warmer temps are supposed to come tomorrow!!

Praying for only light winds. I know that's not happening, though.

I can still remember the sounds of trees exploding at night during the 94 ice storm. Not an easy thing to sleep through.

We've been home all but a few hours all week. Our street is so icy that some people have had to leave the cars on the slight hill coming up to it. We have a 4 wheel drive and were able to get back to our driveway, thankfully.

But I currently have multiple kids with a stomach virus at my house, so I am seriously considering risking my life to stay at a hotel. Or maybe just pitch a tent in the snow.

Speaking as someone who grew up in NE Ohio, I would suggest to all of you that you NOT remove the snow that first falls. Let it be the base for the ice on your walkways and driveways and it will be much easier to remove when everything is done. Yes, the ice will weigh it down, but you will only have to break the surface.

It's AWFUL out there! My driveway is back to being a sheet of ice. The side roads look no better than they did yesterday. It's COLD with the windchill (in the 20's they said) and it's freakin' wet! i thought this was all gonna melt and be back to normal today. HA! I think it's worse than it was yesterday . . .
