Relocating to Nashville area where can i find good schools and safe neighborhoods in the 375,000 to 500,000 range
Relocating to the area and looking for a neighborhood that has decent size lots (1/2 acre or more) in an area with good schools. Looking at Brentwood and Franklin but so far haven't found anything? Can anyone recommend areas?

Can't find a house in Brentwood with a half-acre lot, or can't find one you like for less than 500k?

ethcd, I just did a quick search in Brentwood and Franklin and pulled up 73 properties on .5 acres or larger in the price range you are looking at that are currently on the market. I'm sure it's going to be a lot fewer depending on what other criteria you are looking at. Are you looking at Williamson County because of the schools or because it is convenient for your job? To a degree that will determine what other areas you might be interested in. If you could give more information regarding convenience to work, importance of public schools, age and type house you are looking for, etc., it would be helpful.

thanks for the responses, i'm new to this We are looking at Williamson county because of the schools I have a 3rd grader and a 7th grader. I am looking for a 4 bedroom house with a bonus room or rec room less than 10 years old. We will be commuting to N'ville for work. We would also love to find a neighborhood with amenities such as a pool. We are moving from an acre + lot so we can't get used to the tiny lots of the houses we have looked at. Most things in Brentwood have been over the $500,000 range.

I live in Franklin, but close to I-65. I have friends in several Brentwood neighborhoods. We can leave our houses at the same time and I will beat them to Nashville every time because it takes them longer to get to the freeway. All I'm saying is don't eliminate Franklin because it's farther from Nashville on the map. Just might be a shorter commute .

Another possibility might be Kingston Springs. I'm not that familiar with the schools there, but I've heard that they're okay.

We have a house in Brentwood that is four bedrooms, 3.5 baths with a bonus room, it is not on a large lot but backs up to woods that can't be built on. Our community has a pool and tennis courts. There are others in our neighborhood (Courtside) that are also on the market and would fit all of your specifications except for a larger lot size. I'm not trying to sell you our house but you might want to check out the neighborhood

There are currently fourteen houses listed that meet your criteria in Brentwood and Franklin. Only a couple of them are in Brentwood.

I honestly don't think you'll have any problem in Franklin. Some schools are Franklin Special School District, the others are Williamson County SD. If I knew of a "bad" one, I'd tell you, but I don't.
Weigh all advice you recieve. I had one woman warn me away from Liberty Elementary only to find she is a raging racist, and was concerned about there being "too many" (whatever that means) AA and Hispanic students there. She seemed so normal........ People will surprise you . My son attended Liberty for 2 years and had a wonderful experience.
You'll find Franklin schools enjoy a huge parent-volunteer work force. This helps keep our budget in line and our standards high.
Let us know when you choose a school so we can give you details. Good luck!
