Default If you were going on a road trip...

...where would you start? I've never been to Tennessee and I'm planning a trip up this month. Looking for suburbs near Nashville with homes in the $200-300k range. Schools and crime are number one priorities. I hear Williamson and Rutherford Counties are nice. So, if you had a family member looking to move to the area, where would you tell them to stay and start looking? Also, if anyone had recently moved to the area from NY or S. Fla (yes, I am a half-back), what is your opinion on the area thus far?

When you come, I would recommend staying in the Brentwood, Cool Springs or Franklin areas right off of I-65. You'll be staying in Williamson County but have fairly easy access to Rutherford County as well...some of the hotels in the area are Mariott, Embassy Suites, Baymont Suites, Red Roof Inn, Hilton Suites, and a couple older hotels on 96...I think there's a Holiday Inn or Days Inn around there.

In your price range, you will probably focus on Franklin, Nolensville, Thompsons Station, Spring Hill and Murfreesboro...where will you be working and what ages/grades are your children? How many bedrooms do you need, square footage, etc.??

I would probably also suggest a visit to Hendersonville, Mt. Juliet, and Kingston Springs.

Brentwood Suites (Brentwood) and AmeriSuites (Cool Springs) offer weekly rates. We stayed at both when we were looking. We moved from S FL also.
