my husband job is not transfering him to cookeville, they are now sending him to the nashville terminal. It is located just east of the nashville airport by hamilton creek park. I am looking for suggestions on areas to check out. I am looking for a really good school system, easy commute, not a lot of congestion, ability to get .25 acres, 3bdrm, 2 bath for about 150k or less. Thanks for any help. I need a good area for young kids to grow up. low crime, no drugs, etc.

You might look at the Hermitage area. Mount Juliet might also be a consideration.

What do you consider an "easy commute"? Mt. Juliet is a great area, but you'll have a difficult time finding a home for under $150,000 there (one home came up in my initial search). You may need to go further out to the Lebanon area, but that will put you a good 30 minutes from the airport.

we dont want to have to travel more than 30 minutes to work and I know I can look up a commute on mapquest and it says 30 but thats not true do to traffic. Our main concerns is close 30 minutes or less commute, 3bdrms at least, no work needed on house, no fixer up. We want a safe quiet neighborhood for our kids with good schools. we dont want to live in the city, we like openness and neighbors not within arms distance of your house, a private back yard. Thanks for all the help.
