I am a single woman with cerebral palsy in Nashville who receives SSI ($733/mo). My current housemate is ditching me August 1 and there's no way I can afford to pay the rent alone. I have looked at HUD listings but they all have years-long waiting lists and most of the non-HUD places are intended for seniors or families with children. I found a few for people with disabilities but not sure I would qualify because I'm not wheelchair bound. And the supposed "low income" apartments are nowhere near something I can afford (they had one for 1400 listed under that title-wtf). I have no family I can stay with and all of my friends are married with kids so that's not an option either. I'm terrified of ending up homeless. I don't give a **** if the place is nice, don't care if it is furnished or what area it's in, so long as its a roof over my head and I can afford it. If you can be of any assistance, please respond to my thread.
