Wow - music, music everywhere!

Wondering if we NEED this? I was out at the Woods during their first year. It was not my favorite place. The entrance/exit was a bottleneck. The seats were easy to sneak into and the 'lawn' seats were on hard packed earth. Seemed like if there was a thunder/lightning storm there'd be a crush getting out of there. Not sure if that's been remedied as I have not been back.

I have not yet been to the one downtown . . it's just that if the Bridgestone, Ryman, Schermerhorn and War Memorial and TPAC all have things on the same night . . I don't think the city can handle the traffic AND all the people who want to eat beforehand???

I guess if the Thompson's Station venue maybe found a niche in terms of what type of music they presented it might be worth the drive? The Schermerhorn has a "pops" series and the Ryman hosts more rock groups these days. Maybe having a niche is NOT the way to go?

Shouldn't complain . . just wonder 'if you build it, will they come???"

Definitely!!

Considering the popularity of the Bluegrass Underground shows in a cave 300 feet beneath McMinnville, I think it will work.

Personally, I wouldn't drive to Thompson's Station for a show, but I live almost in Gallatin.

I typed out a thought that Nashville could use another venue at this size or actually a little lower...something like Marathon Music Works. Then I started thinking about the other smaller indoor venues around...City Winery, Ryman (though I'd argue the Ryman isn't really in the same boat), along with the outdoor venues like Fontanel and Ascend...and I am not sure if another venue makes much sense. I see less need for another outdoor venue than an indoor one...but even then I don't see much of a need for another indoor one.

I think it makes more sense in Williamson County than in the downtown Nashville area, though.

Maybe I'm just getting old and getting past my concert prime. I used to love to go see live music. Now it's got to be on a weekend, a good show, a decent price, and worth getting a babysitter for. College hipsters, behold your future!!!

That actually happened July 31st. Eric Church was at Ascend, Dolly Parton was at the Ryman, Shania Twain was at Bridgestone, the symphony was at the Schermorhorn, and the Sounds were at First Tennessee. Of course there were also the 50 bachelorette parties and typical revelry on Lower Broad that there is typically. Oh, yeah, that also corresponded to the TDOT closure of I-40 for Fast Fix 8.

I was down at the Eric Church concert and traffic was crazy but Nashville pulled it off beautifully.
